How to Rent a Dumpster in Anne Arundel County MD?
It's important that you pick the right type and size of dumpster before starting any project to make sure you pay the best price. At Sourgum Waste, we offer a variety of sizes of dumpster rentals to accommodate different needs such as the following common projects:
Decluttering or trash removal
Home remodeling
Basement, garage, or attic clean-outs
Complete home clean-out projects
Landscaping or yard work
Contracting projects
1. Identify the type of material
What will you be disposing of? Types of accepted materials include construction & demolition, household items, roofing, brush, branch & logs, clean concrete, concrete with rebar, concrete and brick mix, asphalt, and more. It is important that you specify which material you'll be disposing of so we can give you the best dumpster and help you help us recycle as much as possible. If you have multiple materials or very light materials combined with very heavy ones, we may recommend that you rent two smaller dumpsters instead of a larger one, which will help you save money on the disposal.
2. Pick a dumpster size
We offer 10, 15, 20, and 30-yard dumpsters. A 10-yard dumpster holds 4 pickup truck loads, and a 30-yarder holds as many as 12 pickup truck loads. In order to help you identify the right size for your location and your project, we've put together a Roll-Off Dumpster Sizing Guide here. Different sizes also come with different weight limits, so you'll have to take that into account when picking a size. Still unsure? We get it - give us a call at (732) 366-9355 and we'll talk through your options and recommend the best size.

3. Pick a weight limit
Most dumpster rentals come with an included weight limit: this is how much weight you can put into the dumpster at a discounted disposal rate. You can choose to add more included weight while you're placing your order if you already know you will likely be going over. What happens if you still go over the weight limit? Not to worry you will simply be asked to pay for the extra weight at the standard and pro-rated disposal weight. We are not here to take your hard-earned cash. Any weight overage will be fairly priced and backed by a copy of the official dump ticket.
If you are disposing of particularly heavy debris, such as concrete, brick, asphalt, and more, ask us about our concrete dumpster rentals which come with a 10+ ton weight limit.
4. Pick a rental period
How long can you rent your dumpster for? Every dumpster rental comes with a complimentary rental period, which can vary by type of dumpster and area, and will be fully disclosed while you are placing your order. If you already know you will need extra time, you can choose to add more rental days before checkout. Let's say your project runs long and you still need more time - no problem. Give us a call and we will extend your rental at a low daily flat rate. It is helpful to research how long your renovation project generally takes, and remember to add a little padding to the time you are hoping to be done, as projects can often experience unexpected turns that will slow them down.
5. Place your order
You can checkout online, call us at (732) 366-9355, or email us. Online checkout is available in most areas, including Anne Arundel MD, so that's your best bet if you already know the type, size, weight, and duration of dumpster you need. If you still have a few questions, you are more than welcome to order over the phone or by email.
We do our best to accommodate your requested delivery date, and can often deliver as quickly as the same day or the next day. However, we recommend that you order well in advance if you can, to help us get the best hauler for you and ensure you get the date you want.
6. Prepare the space
Make sure you provide plenty of space in front of your desired drop location and that all obstructions are cleared from the truck's path. For instance please make sure all cars are either out or to the side of your driveway. About 60 feet of space is usually enough for our truck to come in and drop off the dumpster. If you are unsure of the best drop-off location on your property, give us a call and we'll help you identify an area with enough space with the help of Google Maps.
If you choose to place the dumpster on the street, you will most likely need a permit. Please check with your city about how to apply for a dumpster permit.
7. We deliver, pick up, and dispose
That's it! Sit back and relax as we drop off your dumpster, and call or email us to pick it up once you are ready. As long as the space is cleared (see above) you do not need to be around for the dumpster delivery. However, if you do prefer to be there to oversee the drop-off, you are of course welcome. We can even call or text you when the driver is on their way. Please specify your request during the ordering process so that we can make that note in your file.
